MTV Style Best Of 2010: Lovely Little White Dresses

Each day, until New Year's Eve, we'll bring you a Top 10 list featuring some of the most unforgettable looks of 2010.

Do you remember that "No White After Labor Day" rule? Yeah, well, it didn't really apply in 2010. This year (from summer to winter) it was all about the Little White Dress. Celebs such as Kim Kardashian and Jessica Alba chose the clean, crisp shade in everything from belted cocktail dresses to curve-hugging strapless shifts. Little Black Dress, you might want to watch your back!

ONE SHOULDER: The one-shoulder look was clearly having a moment on red carpets. Celebs like Selena Gomez and January Jones showed just how flattering the neckline/collarbone-revealing style could be by wearing it with little (if any) jewelry.

BELTED: Jessica Alba's white dress collection runs deep (it was her favorite color to wear out and about). But the fashionista also has a TON of belts, which she used to brighten her look and cinch her waist.

DRAPEY: Glee star Naya Rivera and singer Selena Gomez added ancient flavor to their Grecian-inspired LWD with cowled sleeves.

A-LINE: It's no wonder Elle Fanning, Ashley Greene, and Carrie Underwood all chose this ladylike silhouette—it's flattering on ANY body type. If you're thin, it creates curves; if you have curves, it makes them look hotter

LONG-SLEEVE: Gossip Girl Leighton Meester gave the long-sleeve minidress trend legs when she wore this intricately embroidered Emilio Pucci number to the Teen Choice Awards in August.

STRUCTURED HIPS: Whitney Port and Anne Hathaway created the illusion of an hourglass shape in white dresses with hip-slung ruffles. So sneaky!

POUFY: In addition to great hair and acting ability, we bet Dakota Fanning and her younger sister, Elle, share fashion tips, too. They were both spotted in voluminous/vintage-y toile dresses, which they both paired with black heels.

LONGER LENGTH GOWNS: Glee's Amber Riley, Kim Kardashian, and Kirsten Dunst wore floor-grazing snowy dresses, debunking the myth that long white dresses are only for your wedding day.
